And 2012 begins…

With a warm evening in downtown Bangor, and reminders of this sweet little town, the wonderful community and new opportunities for the year ahead. Many thanks to you for sharing your practices, your interest in yoga and meditation, and a willingness to be kind and generous to yourself (even if you struggle to do so at times).

In 2012, Yin yoga continues, and if you’re interested in getting an informal meditation group together in Bangor, drop me a line! Contact Improv dance is now on Facebook (“like” Bangor Contact Improv), and meeting monthly, and there will be a meditation workshop or two in the spring.

Looking forward to eventual snow (cross-country skis haven’t yet touched the ground this winter), and longer days that lead to spring and summer. Happy winter and transition to 2012~may this year be one of truth and beauty.

WWWP5K-Pressed all over Bangor, Maine

Here’s the invitation: the World Wide Word Press 5K, between April 4 and 10, any time, any where. Do a 5K as a run, walk, in your slippers, or dressed for speed.

I chose today (Saturday the 9th) for this walking route. Mission: 5K and yoga. Actual: 4.86K. And still recovering from an ankle injury, so the walk broke no land-speed records, but with husband Paul and canine Katie along for the journey, we had some adventures…pics from the journey below…

Here’s the route:

7:44am start

We departed on this beautiful sunny morning in lovely Bangor, Maine.
Thank you fellow human and canine traveling companions.
and a little sightseeing on the way…

Limbering Up for the Journey

Note to viewer: Rotate in your mind (almost stopped here for massage, but we'd only been walking for 10 minutes-is that too soon?)

Some bridge yoga with the pup

Press This (While many a weaker walker would have stopped, we powered on.)

It really must be spring-last Friday we had the last gasp of winter with an April Fool’s snowstorm. Today it was beautiful. On our walk, the sun continued to shine, we made friends along the way, my ankle loosened up.
And we rounded the way back through town and up the hill, to our driveway to be greeted by more furry friends.

9:15am End

Thank you WP for getting me out this morning!
Anyone up for next Saturday’s jaunt around town for yoga in random spots in Bangor?

WWWP5K followed by some official yoga at Central Street
